Come learn about LA County’s dangerous 2 billion dollar “fail” plan!
This is the second of a four part Political Education series put on by LA No More Jails called FREEDOM FUNCTIONS. By bringing together different communities organizing across Los Angeles’ many and varied neighborhoods, we intend to make connections between the state of the prison industrial complex throughout Los Angeles’s expansive geography.
The LA No More Jails Coalition has been fighting to keep resources and funding from going towards wasteful jail expansion projects in Los Angeles. Organizations in the coalition such as: Californians United for a Responsible Budget, Dignity and Power Now, Youth Justice Coalition, Los Angeles Community Action Network, Critical Resistance Los Angeles, Drug and Policy Alliance, and many more have been voicing alternatives, and community based needs that can drastically reduce the number of people in jails and prisons.
Come join the workshop as we build the movement towards healthy communities, jobs with dignity, resources for quality education, and holistic care in Los Angeles.
Participating Organizers include:
Diana Zuniga ( Californians United for a Responsible Budget)
Eunisses Hernandez ( Drug Policy Alliance)
